Importing data

The Accounting import wizard creates tracked import jobs for ledger and business records.

Supported input

The file picker accepts CSV, IIF, OFX, QBO, and QFX files up to 50 MB. Supported target types include chart of accounts, journal entries, bank transactions, invoices, bills, customers, vendors, and mixed IIF data.

The page includes export instructions for QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Xero, FreshBooks, Sage 50, and Wave. These instructions describe how to obtain a file; they do not create a live integration.

Import workflow

  1. Select New Import, choose the source platform, and upload a supported file.
  2. Confirm the detected entity type.
  3. Review source-column mappings and confidence indicators.
  4. Correct unmapped or low-confidence fields. You can load or save a mapping template.
  5. Preview the rows and confirm the import.
  6. Monitor processing and review imported, skipped, warning, and error counts.

Imports can create accounting records in bulk. Check dates, account mappings, contacts, and money columns before confirmation.

The current MCP catalog does not expose the historical import-job tool names. Use the Accounting UI or current GraphQL contract for this workflow.
