Jobs connect a customer engagement to budgets, milestones, expenses, materials, invoicing, collections, and retainage.
Create a job
Select New Job, choose a customer, and enter a title, description, budget, optional retainage percentage, dates, notes, and initial milestones. Jobs move through planned, in-progress, and completed states.
Manage job detail
The detail page shows job costing, invoiced and collected amounts, margin, retainage, milestones, expenses, and materials. Supported actions include:
- add or update milestones;
- invoice an eligible milestone and open its invoice;
- mark a milestone paid where allowed;
- add categorized expenses and materials;
- release held retainage;
- change the job to in progress or completed.
These actions can create receivables and ledger effects. Verify milestone amounts, retainage, and job status before confirmation.
AI Job Actions prepare prompts from job margin and cash-flow signals. The current MCP catalog does not expose milestone invoicing or retainage under the historical tool names.
